В этом месте примечание Кристофера:
(* Both Maglor and Maelor appear in the draft manuacripts of this passage. The final
typescript has Maelor, changed to Maglor, but not I think by my father.
+ In The Silmarillion (p.254) it is not said that Maglor ended his life in the sea: he cast
the Silmaril into the sea, 'and thereafter he wandered ever upon the shores, singing in pain
and regret beside the waves').
Маэлор - имя Маглора в ряде текстов Толкина.
Соответственно, в позднем варианте поэмы "Лэйтиан" упоминается, что Маглор (Маэлор) бросился в море, но неизвестно, когда это произошло, - другими же текстами эта версия не подтверждается.
Таким образом, мне интересно - есть ли те, кто разделяет эту версию? И если да, то когда, по вашему мнению, это могло произойти?
